Naples Brooklyn Caesarea
Naples Brooklyn Caesarea
It all starts in Naples: Don Carlo, a respectable businessman and a widower, wants very much to marry his only daughter, the feminist Juliet, but she wants no one and no one really wants her.
Don Carlo is already discouraged, until one morning Salvatore Barzi, the hypochondriac insurance agent, knocks on the door - with a marriage proposal. Don Carlo will not let this opportunity slip away. The only problem that comes up is the vow he made to his late wife Esperanza (who keeps reminding him of it from her picture on the wall) and the promise that he won't marry Giulietta to someone she isn't interested in. When Salvatore's identical twin brother, Franco, arrives with news about the business - Juliet falls in love with him.
From this point begins a comedy of errors that is hilarious to the point of tears.
The same story that began in Naples continues with a change in Brooklyn; The names change, but the plot continues: Don Carlo is now Y. Karlobach the "great" and Juliet is already Judith-Leah in ultra-Orthodox Brooklyn of the early 20th century.
The plot ends in the present in Caesarea "Development" in the house of the oligarch Karlov, formerly Karlobach, formerly Don Carlo. Same plot, same characters, three periods and one match.
