The International Fringe Festival 2022
Beer Sheva International Fringe Festival is a multi-disciplinary festival that crosses audiences and ages, which is a high-quality stage for the best creators from Israel and the world in the fields of theater, dance, music, street art and plastic art. The festival is considered one of the main fringe events in Israel and the largest and leading cultural festivals in the south. It should be noted that in 2017 the International Fringe Festival was admitted to the EFFE (European Union Festivals Association) and was commended as an exceptional festival.
Came to fall in love
As every year, the Be'er Sheva Fringe Theater worked on a unique and extraordinary artistic program that made the residents of Be'er Sheva and surrounding communities vote with their feet and enjoy alternative cultural shows and fringe shows for adults and children by the best independent creators in Israel.
Review for four actors and an orchestra starring Dafna Dekel, Adi Cohen, Liron Lev and Dedi Zohar. The show included a bunch of funny and exciting skits and acting pieces concerning love in its many shades, combined with the greatest and most beloved love songs of Israeli music of all time. The show premiered as part of the opening event of the festival and took place at the Mishkan for the Performing Arts between the dates of July 20-22.
Overseas guests
Like every year, this year the International Fringe Festival hosted shows that came from overseas - the international group Teatro Istorijos from Lithuania with the show TRAPS, the group Dada Zirkus from Austria that combines acrobatics, juggling and street theater and the group French Wingz, a duet of hip-hop dancers who come straight from France for a live show in Israel.
On Thursday, July 21, the festival took place on KKL Street and made the street colorful and especially theatrical with a variety of street performances, circus and clown performances and a fair of artists' booths.
As part of the closing event of the festival, there was a festive premiere of Ayit Ensemble's new original production from the creator of the Fringe Theater in Be'er-Sheva - "Beaver 7", a moving poetic drama about the illusion of freedom and the illusion of love, about our roots and memories. One of the most loved and performed plays by Tennessee Williams, one of the most important playwrights of all time, in the adaptation in Be'er Sheva style by the artistic director of the Fringe Theater, Yoav Michaeli, who illuminates the classic play in a new and original light.
